    What are the documents required of an assignment recordal?

    1.a photocopy of an Assignment Deed co-executed by the Assignor and the Assignee or a photocopy of an Assignment signed by the Assignor; and

    2.a photocopy of a Power of Attorney signed by the Assignee.
     

    The documents require neither notarization nor legalization. In case of a merger, a photocopy of the Certificate of Merger issued by the competent authority is needed.

    What are the documents required of a name change recordal?

    A photocopy of the Certificate of Name Change issued by the competent authority is the only document required.

    What action needs to be taken to record change of the Applicant’s (or the Patentee’s) address or representative? What are the requirements for the recordation?

    It is necessary to conduct an address change recordal or a representative change recordal with the TIPO. No document is needed.

    Is it possible to add an inventor after filing? What document is needed?

    Yes. A photocopy of the Letter of Consent signed by all the inventors (including the new added one) is needed.

    Is it possible to drop an inventor after filing? What document is needed?

    Yes. A photocopy of the Declaration signed by the inventor to be dropped, declaring that he is not the co-inventor and that his name should be dropped from the list of inventors, is needed.
