The positive interview program reported on our website in July will be piloted since January 1, 2021, according to an announcement of the Taiwan IP Office (TIPO) published on its website on October 14, 2020.
This pilot program will be open to foreign as well as domestic invention patent applicants who are less than five years old at the date of filing of the Taiwanese patent applications or the base foreign applications from which the Taiwanese applications claim priority.
In the trial period of six months, only thirty applications can take benefit of this pilot program. Applicants’ requests will be considered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once the quota is full, the TIPO will publish an announcement on its e-filing platform and conclude the program for further evaluation of the feasibility of launching a formal program.
