According to a press release issued on July 1, 2015 by Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance of Taiwan, Customs may provide to a trademark or copyright owner photos of goods that are suspected by Customs to be counterfeits for the trademark or copyright owner to verify whether or not they are indeed counterfeits. If after reviewing the photos, the trademark or copyright owner believes that the seized goods are possibly counterfeits, it will be necessary for the trademark or copyright owner to have a representative take photos of the seized goods at Customs before a deadline appointed by Customs. In other words, the photos provided by Customs to the trademark or copyright owner cannot serve as proofs in assessing infringement or in an infringement lawsuit.
